I was born and raised in Pinellas County, Florida. While attending Seminole High School, I was a part of the 2001 State and National Championship Baseball Team and the 2004 State Final Four Baseball Team.
After high school, I attended Saint Leo University on an academic and athletic scholarship. Following my junior year at Saint Leo, I was drafted by the Washington Nationals and pursued my childhood dream of becoming a professional baseball player.
Upon retirement from my baseball career, I returned to Saint Leo to finish my undergraduate degree in Biology. I then attended the Florida Coastal School of Law to pursue a law degree. While in law school, I worked for a personal injury law firm, clerked for an appellate judge, and interned at NASCAR. I was an editor of the Florida Coastal Law Review and my law review Note entitled "NCAA's Call to the Bullpen: Bring in Congress to Save the College Game with an Antitrust Exemption" was published in the Florida Coastal Law Review Volume 15, No. 3.
After graduating and passing the Florida Bar, I was hired by the State Attorney's Office for the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida (Pinellas/Pasco) to serve as an Assistant State Attorney. As an Assistant State Attorney, I prosecuted misdemeanor and felony cases ranging from driving under the influence (DUI) to murder.
After serving three years as an Assistant State Attorney, I joined O'Connell & O'Connell Chartered to make it a third-generation estate planning law firm. I am now the sole owner of O'Connell and Nolan Chartered providing legal services in the area of estate planning.
I currently live in Safety Harbor, Florida, with my wife, two children, and dog.
